Artist/ School: European School, circa 1920’s-1930’s period, indistinctly signed lower left corner. Title: Portrait of a young Gentleman, with a beard. The work is largely Fauvist in style, with some influence from Matisse. Medium: oil painting on canvas laid over board, framed Size: painting: 16 x 12 inches, plus frame: 21 x 17 inches Provenance: from a private collection, UK Condition: The work is in good and presentable condition. There are a few ‘lifts’ to the canvas where it has not been laid completely flat on the backing board.
