Blue Sky, Impressionist Landscape, Original Oil Painting, Signed By Welsh artist Wilfred Colclough, Mid 1900-1999 Signed and dated ’78 by the artist on the lower left hand corner Oil painting on board, unframed Board size: 16 x 20 inches Fabulous scenic view of open rural land with a mountain in the far view. The dark heathy colours make this view feel quite weathered, and one that looks like an impressive hike for ramblers to conquer. We have several similar landscapes in stock by this incredible artist. Colclough lived in Stockport and was Art Master at Stockport School from 1938 to 1978 (with a break for war time military service). There is little other biographical information however he was a skilled artist who specialised in mountain landscapes. His views of Snowdonia, the Highlands, the Lake District and the Peak District all have a wonderful mystical quality with ancient rocky peaks, swirling mists, and drifting clouds. Condition report: The painting and board are both in a very pleasing condition.
