Fine Classic British Sporting Art Oil Painting – Racehorse with Jockey Up

Jockey Up’ English School, 1900-1999 oil painting on canvas canvas: 25 x 27 inches framed: 30 x 32 inches provenance: private collection, Dorset, England condition: very good and ready to hang. A very fine example of British sporting art, depicting this elegant Jockey up on his racehorse, ready for the off. The painting is a ‘pastiche’ – painted in an earlier style resembling the 1760 – 1799/ 1800 – 1840, when sporting art was at its height of popularity. This painting came from a private collection in Dorset and looks superb presented in its ‘tortoise shell’ style effect frame. The painting came with three others – making the potential to have a set of four. All are by the same hand, in the same frames and the same size. We have decided to list them seperately as some buyers might just want the one – or to have the option to maybe make a pair. Ideal for any ‘country house’ theme or sporting interior setting.
