French School, circa 1720’s circle of Nicolas Lancret (1690-1743) oil painting on canvas 15 x 23 inches provenance: private collection, UK Fine depiction of an elegant ladies boudoir as she is dressed by her maid and watched by her husband. The work is so typical of the early French Rococo period and captures many fascinating details within the interior to admire and enjoy too. Quite possibly an unfinished sketch by a leading hand of the period, certainly very close to Nicolas Lancret (1690-1743).
