A finely detailed original chromolithograph depicting an Irish Water Spaniel, published in Cassell’s Illustrated Book of the Dog circa 1880. The print beautifully captures the breed’s distinctive tightly curled coat, intelligent expression and athletic build, standing confidently within a marshland setting that reflects its renowned abilities as a water retriever. Produced using the finest Victorian chromolithographic techniques, the rich colouring and exceptional detail make this both an attractive decorative print and an important piece of canine history.

Beautifully presented within a burr walnut veneered frame and mounted beneath glass, this decorative sporting print would make an excellent addition to a collection of canine art, Victorian natural history illustrations or country house interiors. The distinguished provenance, having formerly belonged to British businessman Sir Graham Wylie, further enhances its appeal.
