Mid 20th C. Irish Artist Watercolor Painting – Vigo Spain Coastal Landscape Boat

Inscribed verso, Vigo Size 11 x 15 inches Superb original watercolour painting by the well listed and popular Irish painter, Frank Forty (1902-1996). The painting came from a private collection of this artists work. Frank Forty was an Irish painter best known for his landscapes of County Donegal and Kerry, as well as locations in England. He was born in 1902 and died in 1996. As well as being a Consultant Surgeon and a musician, Frank Forty was a highly accomplished and accredited artist, having exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists, the Medical Art Society, the Federation of British Artists and the Society of French Artists. He also showed work at the Paris Salon, where he was awarded Honours in 1970. He was a busy man! This painting is a superb example of his spontaneous and fresh approach to capturing a landscape.
