This piece is an excellent example of Vignon’s portrait work, which combines her unique blend of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist influences with a keen attention to detail. This drawing is a valuable addition for collectors interested in military portraits or French art from the mid-20th century. Josine Vignon remains one of the most talented yet ‘undiscovered’ artists of her time, and this portrait exemplifies her skillful approach to capturing the human spirit.
