Venice by Fernand Audet (French, Tarascon 1923 – Mulhouse 2016) oil painting on canvas, unframed, on stretcher frame size: 6.25 x 8.5 inches A quiet backwater of Venice. Audet very much enjoyed using the impasto thick paint as seen in this example, to create texture and bring a scene to life. This has excellent provenance, having come from the artist’s estate in France. This work forms part of a collection we currently hold by Audet. condition report: In good clean condition, no craquelure or sparse paint.
