The Man with the Cigar by Serge Mallet (French, circa 1990) signed lower left oil painting on canvas, unframed canvas measures: 32 x 25.5 inches provenance: private collection, France Very decorative and striking portrait of a man wearing spectacles and a hat and smoking a cigar. He looks a real character – almost like a private detective from the movies with his coat collar pulled up covering his neck! Superb image. The work dates to around 1990 and is signed by the French artist, Serge Mallet, to the lower corner. Broad brushwork and vivid colours. Condition report: very good, no damage.
